About us

We are an educational project created to train in audiovisual languages by Drac Màgic, founded 1971, with more than fifty years of experience in studying and disseminating audiovisual culture and its use in educational, social and cultural activities.

The objectives of this project are teaching artistic and audiovisual languages, disseminating film culture and implementing interdisciplinary learning.

We take a feminist perspective that draws special attention to culture of peace, cultural diversity and emotional and sexual education.

Visual culture is present in every part of people’s lives, it is part of the experience through knowledge, ideas, emotions and symbolic references that shape personal and social identities.

Supporting visual education, questioning automated media perception and developing one’s own creativity is essential to make sure our relationship, both individual and collective, with the world of images and media culture is responsible and we take an active approach towards them.

HOW WE WORK

With NURSERY AND RECEPTION KIDS, we discover the beginnings of cinema, and we watch tranquil footage with a feminist view of the world. We experience creativity and the symbolic play applied to the use of materials.

In PRIMARY EDUCATION, we discover the herstory of cinema (that which gives an account of women’s contribution to the world of cinema since its origins) while experimenting with different audiovisual techniques. We begin decoding film language to discover narrative and aesthetic diversity through a feminist lens far removed from gender binarism and beyond a Eurocentric point of view.

In SECONDARY, HIGH SCHOOL and VOCATIONAL TRAINING, we work with images in circulation, from the cinema of the beginnings to internet memes to widen imaginaries with feminist and decolonial perspectives. And we will unravel audiovisual languages to encourage creation and experimentation.

With TEACHERS, we share educational tools to explore media culture in the classroom to encourage an active, attentive and creative approach to the students’ diversities.

With PARENTS ASSOCIATIONS, we question the relationship with media consumption our society promotes and we encourage the dissemination of calm and environmentally friendly images aligned with a perspective of social change.

With ADULTS, we approach the herstory of cinema from a feminist and decolonial stance and we explore experimentation and audiovisual creation.

We develop our projects with the learning and service methodology, an educational proposal combining learning and community service processes in a single well-articulated project in which participants are trained while working on the real needs of the environment.
TEACHING MATERIALS
We provide different didactic resources to teachers and educators to work on media culture independently with materials, guidelines and activity proposals.
MORE PROJECTS
We also run other educational projects with Drac Màgic and offer collaborations, commissions and our own initiatives to promote unique creation processes in formal and non-formal educational spaces in which heritage, memory and cinematographic experience are at the service of the community.
